New Product Development

Unique is happy to announce the successful development of the new design of Double Planetary Mixer along with Hydraulic Discharge System for high viscosity materials.

The Double Planetary Mixer is capable of mixing non flowing materials up to several million centipoises with the simple push button operation. The mixed material from the Double Planetary Mixer (with change can design) can be transferred along the container to the discharge system for fast discharge. The hydraulic system can discharge large batch sizes in minutes into containers, post processing equipment, thereby eliminating the otherwise wasted time requirement for scraping heavy or sticky materials from the mixing container. The container can then be cleaned and made ready for the next batch mixing. Multiple cans can be provided to improve productivity and for faster turnaround with different types of process materials.

The Double Planetary Mixer along with discharge system can be used for adhesive, sealants, pharmaceuticals, dental compounds, cosmetics, plastics and many other high viscosity materials.

Chocolate Tempering

What is chocolate tempering ?

Chocolate is composed of six different types of crystals. The beta type crystals are desirable for the chocolate. The process of development and formation of the beta crystals is termed as chocolate tempering. Tempering ensures that only small crystals of a consistent size are produced, resulting in good quality chocolate.

How to temper chocolate ?

A chocolate tempering machine like the one shown in the video should be used. The tempering machine is designed to heat the chocolate at an extremely slow rate followed by an equally slow rate of cooling, leaving the finished chocolate silky smooth.

Muller Mixer

The Muller Mixer consists of 2 to 4 heavy rollers that move under spring pressure within a pan. A scraping arrangement is also provided. The product dust formed during grinding is confined to within the equipment because of the provision of a hood type cover. The rollers rotate around their own axis and also about the axis of the pan. The number of rollers and their sizes can be customized to the specific applications. The equipment is most suitable for solid particle size reduction.

Vibro Blender

Vibro BlendersThe Vibro-Blender operates on the principle of Three-Dimensional Vibration generated by an unbalanced vibrating motor. This results in a unique clockwise spiral motion of powders and helps in rapid inter-mixing of particles irrespective of their varying specific gravities. The Vibro-Blender is specially designed for mixing and color coating of polymer granules and powders.

The Vibro Blender is available in seven sizes ranging from 10 liters to 1200 liters working capacity and is suitable for handling charge weights up to 4 tons.

Paddle Blender

A design alternative to the ribbon agitator is the paddle agitator, which can handle fragile material. The paddle blender/ agitator consists of forward and reverse paddles rather than ribbon flights. The paddles are positioned to move the material in opposing lateral directions as well as in the radial direction. The paddle design is generally employed where friable materials are being blended and when batches as small as 15% of the total capacity are going to be mixed in the blender. The ribbon design is appropriate for low- and medium-duty applications (generally free-flowing materials), whereas the paddle design is suitable for heavy-duty applications (e.g.,wet materials, heavy metal powders). In some cases a hybrid paddle–ribbon agitator may be used.

  • Ribbon agitator for center discharge.

  • Top cover with nozzles for material charging.

  • Stuffing boxes with easily disassembled housings. PTFE gland packing provided.
  • Stainless steel surfaces are polished to desired standards. All exterior non-stainless surfaces are painted with enamel paint.
  • Squirrel Cage, Three Phase Induction Motors suitable for 415 Volts, 50 Hz.
  • Worm reduction gearbox, helical reduction gearbox.
  • Single Speed Drive.
  • Blender is mounted on supports providing adequate discharge clearance.

Change Can Mixers

  • Change can mixers are configured vertically, with a vertical cylindrical vessel and a bottom dished end.
  • These mixers are called change can mixers because they are provided with an arrangement for lifting the agitator head mixing element out of the mixing vessel once mixing is completed, thus enabling movement of the mixing vessel.
  • Some change can mixers have mixing vessels that can be lifted and lowered while keeping the agitator head stationary
  • Removal of the mixing vessel provides the following advantages:
  • Material can be weighed accurately.
  • It is easier to clean the mixing vessel, resulting in less batch-to-batch contamination.
  • The packing glands and seals do not come in contact with the material, thus eliminating product contamination.
  • Multiple cans can be used to enhance productivity without downtime during material charging and discharging.
  • Change can mixers may be provided with one or more mixing blades.
  • Because of the vertical configuration, these mixers can be operated at as little as 10% of their designed working capacity.
  • Discharge of highly viscous materials from the mixing vessel can be achieved by locating the vessel on a separate hydraulically operated automatic discharge system.

Helical Mixer

  • These mixers have major advantages over anchor mixers because of their ability to generate strong top-to-bottom motion even with viscous materials.
  • To improve heat transfer through the jacket, wipers and scrapers can be attached to the outer periphery ribbon flights.
