Paddle Blender

A design alternative to the ribbon agitator is the paddle agitator, which can handle fragile material. The paddle blender/ agitator consists of forward and reverse paddles rather than ribbon flights. The paddles are positioned to move the material in opposing lateral directions as well as in the radial direction. The paddle design is generally employed where friable materials are being blended and when batches as small as 15% of the total capacity are going to be mixed in the blender. The ribbon design is appropriate for low- and medium-duty applications (generally free-flowing materials), whereas the paddle design is suitable for heavy-duty applications (e.g.,wet materials, heavy metal powders). In some cases a hybrid paddle–ribbon agitator may be used.

  • Stainless steel surfaces are polished to desired standards. All exterior non-stainless surfaces are painted with enamel paint.
  • Squirrel Cage, Three Phase Induction Motors suitable for 415 Volts, 50 Hz.
  • Worm reduction gearbox, helical reduction gearbox.
  • Single Speed Drive.
  • Blender is mounted on supports providing adequate discharge clearance.

Plough Share Mixer

Plough Share mixer consists of a horizontal cylindrical container with multiple plough shaped shovels mounted on the main shaft. With 30% – 70 % filling of the container, the size, number and positioning, geometric shape and peripheral speed of the mixing elements are co-ordinated in such a way that they produce a whirling, three-dimensional product movement. The resultant turbulence in the mix, whereby the entire product is constantly involved in the mixing process, prevents the formation of dead-spots or low-movement zones in the mixing container and ensures fast and homogenous mixing. The mixing elements are specially designed to lift the material from the inside wall of the container without squashing the particles against the wall. In addition, separately driven high-speed choppers can be installed to disperse agglomerations and control granulation during the mixing process in co-ordination with the mixing elements.

Chopper Action (Optional)

Single or multiple choppers are located in the lower part of the mixing container in such a way that the chopper assembly is inserted into the wall of the container at points in between the flights of two adjacent mixing shovels. The shovels operate beneath the rotating choppers. Together with the mixing shovels, the high-speed choppers remove lumps in the raw material, chop pasty additives and prevent formation of agglomerates on liquid addition. The choppers can be switched on and off, independent of the main drive shaft. Thus, the influence of the chopper action on the product mix can be controlled.

Ribbon Blender comprises of a U-shaped horizontal trough and a specially designed Double Helical Ribbon Agitator rotating within.  The ribbons rotate at approximately 70 – 100 meters per minute and move the material both radially and laterally to ensure thorough blends in short cycle times. Ribbon Blenders are used for blends that are between 50% and 100% of the rated capacity.

Double Cone Blender

Double cone blenders

The Double Cone Blender is efficient and versatile equipment for homogeneous mixing of dry powder and granules. The blender name is derived from its body shape. This blender is probably the oldest member in family of industrial blenders. The effective volume for optimum homogeneity is between 35-60% of gross volume. The ease of operation, cleaning, charging, discharging and absence of contamination has resulted in it being widely used in blending of dry powders and granules. The slant double cone design eliminates dead spots which occasionally occur in conventional double cone mixer. It is commonly used for pharmaceutical, food, chemical and cosmetic products.

The particle size reduction is minimized due to the absence of any moving blades. The shape of blender body results in a near complete discharge of product material, clearly an added advantage over horizontal blender.

Internal attachments like lump breakers and liquid dispensers widen the applications of this blender. The blender can also be modified for use as a Rotary Vacuum Dryer.

They offer both short blending times and efficient blending. The blend is achieved by the constant dividing and intermeshing of particle movement provided by two connected cylinders.

The V-blender is good for blending dry powders and granulated products. Absence of shaft projection eliminates product contamination.
