Rotary airlocks valves and feeders are used to discharge bulk solids materials such as powders, granules, and pellets from hoppers, silos and cyclones into a pneumatic conveying system. It acts as a sealing device against loss of air while maintaining a flow of bulk materials between components in a pneumatic conveying system.

Rotary feeders may be installed at the discharge of blenders or silos and are used as a volumetric feeders for metering materials into the downstream processes. A Rotary airlock feeder combines the above two function.
