V-Blender

V-Blenders function mainly by diffusion mixing. The solid material to be blended is loaded into the V-shared vessel which is rotated about a horizontal axis. Tumbler blenders, such as the V-Blender and the Double Cone Blender rely upon the action of gravity to cause the powder to cascade within the rotating vessel. Blender movements increase the mobility of the individual particles and in the absence of segregating effects, result in high degree of homogeneity. Mixing homogeneity of upto 98 percent and higher can be achieved using tumbler blenders. Blending efficiency is affected by the volume of the material loaded into the blender and the speed of blender rotation.Tumbler blenders are also available with blender containers in octagonal, cubical or cylindrical shapes.

V-Blender

The V-blender is made of two hollow cylindrical shells that are joined at an angle. The V-shaped vessel is mounted on trunions to allow it to tumble. As the vessel tumbles, the material continuously splits and recombines. The free-fall of material within the vessel, the repetitive converging and diverging motion, along with the frictional contact between the material and the vessel's long, straight sides result in gentle yet homogenous blending.

V- Blenders provided with intensifier bars and liquid spraying arrangement are used for solid-liquid blending, granulation applications. High-speed intensifier bars (or lump breakers) operating at 1200 - 3000 revolution per minute (rpm) for disintegration of agglomerates in the charge material or those formed during wet mixing can be provided.

V-Blender

The charging of material into the v-blender is through either of the two ends or through the apex port. The recommended fill-up volume for the v-blender is 50 to 60 percent of the total blender volume. The blend time ranges from about 5 to 15 minutes. The discharge of the material is through the apex of the blender.

V-Blenders blenders are widely used for blending of dry powders and granules in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industry because of close quality control on batch operation, effective diffusion mechanism and gentle mixing of friable solid materials.
